My impression of Ciphix was very positive. At the time, I worked on the same floor for another organization. I didn’t know much about what Ciphix did in terms of content, but I heard it was a great place where a lot was happening, with fun people working and plenty to do. I made the choice based on the culture. I remember thinking, “those are cool people” and “project management, that sounds interesting”. This feeling was based on the fact that I’m good at organizing things. What particularly appealed to me during my job interview was the following statement: “we have the feeling that you would fit in well with us as a person, and we’ll see which role suits you best.”

It’s not really defined. I started as a project manager, but you can continuously explore new opportunities. For example, my role is now transitioning into a Product Owner role, and I have complete freedom to do what I want to do. I’m encouraged to keep developing myself and have attended various training sessions recently, such as Coaching Leadership, Coaching, and Product Owner trainings. It’s amazing to see that I’m given all the space to make mistakes, take on tasks, brainstorm, and I’m encouraged to consider and discuss everything. In my opinion, you’re given all the room to grow. You learn in a nice way how to push boundaries. I’m very happy with Ciphix as an employer. I’ve also gained new friends. Through the work, you naturally become friends.

Implementation Lead

I was approached by a former colleague who suggested that a job at Ciphix might be something for me. I was surprised and asked him why. He mentioned that at Ciphix, we mainly implement short projects lasting between 4 to 6 weeks. I was immediately sold! Finally, no more company with long implementation processes of 9+ months.

The atmosphere in the office is excellent. We always aim to bring out the best in each other and innovate where possible, but I have to say that the Friday afternoon drinks also contribute significantly to the atmosphere!

What could be better than when someone asks you where you work, and you can say, ‘I work for a company that builds digital robots’? Everyone is instantly intrigued. That’s when you feel proud to work for this company!

When I walked into the office, I immediately noticed that there are a lot of young people working at Ciphix. This gave me the instant feeling that I could feel at home. The combination of being very technical, analytical, and very social was something I hadn’t seen before, but it immediately appealed to me.

The image I had in my mind was pretty accurate. The employees at Ciphix are very social, and in terms of collegiality, it turned out even better than I expected. I greatly appreciate the open and direct interaction with colleagues. Additionally, there are a lot of activities organized outside of work. For me, Ciphix offers the perfect balance between serious and challenging tasks with a professional attitude, where there is tremendous organizational growth, but where the atmosphere is very relaxed and feels like a group of friends. It’s nice how the organization emphasizes personal growth and investing in oneself. Moreover, Ciphix is engaged in employee engagement to monitor how the employees are doing. I think it’s great that this is being addressed and it validates for me that I’m working within an innovative organization where there is plenty of room for personal development.

From other conversations, I know that I can’t stand it when there’s little to nothing organized, as I saw in startups, but I also don’t enjoy working in a corporate environment where everything is bureaucratically regulated. At Ciphix, I quickly noticed that they are professional and have things well organized. Additionally, they have an informal culture where you are quickly integrated into the group. I also appreciate that I was immediately heard when I had ideas for internal improvements.

For me, the vibe within an organization is very important. This felt right away within Ciphix. Despite my academic background in a different field, the technology also immediately sparked my curiosity. This combination is what led me to choose Ciphix.

The work I do is incredibly dynamic. I’m involved in various projects, which means I get to tackle something different each time. I notice that I continue to learn every day. Furthermore, I think it’s great that there are many internal activities organized. I pick up a lot of knowledge from my colleagues and can always turn to them when I have questions. After work, I regularly socialize with my colleagues. I enjoy the fact that there’s a real culture of getting together for drinks.

Solution Architect

David

Now that I work for Ciphix, I realize what a unique group we have here. When I conduct job interviews, I notice how difficult it is to articulate. Every organization says it, but you have to experience it. For example, we regularly play padel as a team, which often turns into a drink afterward. Another example: just yesterday, while having dinner with a friend, we both talked about how we look forward to Fridays. He likes being able to finish early because hardly anyone is in the office. While I actually enjoy going to the office on Fridays. We have a culture where everyone wants to come to the office on Fridays, and that’s clearly the difference between Ciphix and other companies. Some of my friends had to get used to the fact that I reserve my Friday evenings for colleagues, but I find it energizing!

After graduating, I traveled and then started looking for work. I began as an RPA Developer and gradually took on more and more responsibilities. I think it’s great that I have the opportunity to grow and challenge myself. Now, I have the role of Solution Architect and am the one end-responsible for the solution for the client. Taking on the responsibility for the solution, that’s exciting. Even though I’ve only just taken the step to become a Solution Architect, I’m already starting to explore what the next step could be. For me, it’s a big advantage that your career path isn’t set in stone, but you get to decide it yourself. Of course, you are guided in this!

My perception of the culture within Ciphix was pretty accurate. It’s a young, sociable team that enjoys delivering great products but also loves to have a good time together. I’m positively surprised by the work and the way how it is handled. You might think that as a software engineer, you’re just coding, but that’s not true. You have quite a few meetings with clients to, for example, establish requirements, coordinate security, design, and test. This makes my work dynamic and fun and ensures the right balance.

First of all, that you’re not just a number like in a big corporation. There’s a lot of attention for the individual. Additionally, Ciphix also offers the opportunity to talk to a business coach, so I can continue developing my soft skills. It’s also great that we organize a lot of events outside of work hours. Finally, you notice that there’s no vertical hierarchy. I see it as a flat culture.

Support

I work in the support department where I get to learn a lot. At support, I hear about everything that’s going on. What incidents come in and how they can be resolved. I like that I work in a close-knit team. We laugh a lot together, and jokes are often made. It’s good to see that the collaboration in the team and the rest of the organization is strong. I also know that I always get support from my colleagues.

When I’ve been able to handle my tasks well and I receive appreciation from our customers. Also, I always enjoy our lunches as it’s a great time to talk with all my colleagues. I’m glad that everyone takes a moment to have lunch and that it doesn’t happen at their desks!
